However, in heavily populated urban slum Kibera, the ban on plastics is non-existent, and the hazards of pollution cannot be enforced or contained. Between the human waste that pollutes the river and the burning of trash being dispersed into the atmosphere, the United Nations Environment Assembly has been pushing for a greener economy that focuses on the reduction of trash to improve the planet’s overall health.
