In honor of the Lunar New Year, the City of El Monte, CA hosted its own Lunar New Year celebration this February.
Cindy Wu, a Board Member of the Mountain View School District, explains that, here, “Asian Americans are about one-third of the city population.” For this reason, various community leaders and organizations, like the Tzu Chi Medical Foundation, have been invited to showcase their services to the public while also getting acquainted with potential community partners.
“It’s important for Tzu Chi to meet elected officials… and to see what else we can do for the Asian population,” Cindy explains.
