To play the “Little Bamboo Raft ,” we are so proud to introduce Shohina Usmanova, one of the youngest musicians we’ve ever welcomed to the Tzu Chi USA stage.
With a message of hope and encouragement for those who’ve survived disasters, see this fourth-grader’s natural musical talent on display as she plays a Chinese string instrument known as the guzheng. Similar to a harp, this horizontal instrument makes a beautiful sound when its strings are plucked.
Like many veteran musicians, she has already found her musical inspiration, including the music from Studio Ghibli films (made by acclaimed Japanese filmmaker Hayao Miyazaki), but also her mother (a fellow guzheng player), with who she hopes to play a duet with one day .
Listen to her song and support our year-end fundraiser with a charitable gift here.
