The 4th China-US-Canada Buddhist Forum
Nearly 200 Buddhist leaders and representatives from China, the US, Canada, and beyond gathered at Columbia University on September 11–12 for the 4th China–US–Canada Buddhist Forum under the theme: “Hearts Toward Peace, Creating the Future Together.”
The forum featured discussions on the digitization of Buddhist scriptures and the vision and practice of Buddhism in promoting harmony and peace
Representing Tzu Chi USA, Dharma Master De Yue of the Jing Si Abode delivered a keynote speech highlighting how Master Cheng Yen’s philosophy of Humanistic Buddhism inspires Tzu Chi’s Four Missions:
Charity – Emergency relief, long-term care, and mutual support
Medicine – Holistic care and global medical outreach
Education – Balancing moral values with professional excellence
Humanistic Culture – Recording good deeds to inspire kindness in society
Guided by the Lotus Sutra, Tzu Chi has extended aid to 136 countries and regions, encouraging compassion, vegetarianism, carbon reduction, and environmental protection—transforming kind thoughts into a powerful force for peace.
