Over the course of 8 weeks at Tzu Chi USA’s summer camp in Walnut, California, school-age children from kindergarten to fifth grade embarked on a journey into vegetarianism, filial piety, compassion, and environmental protection – the themes of this year’s summer camp activities.
“She brings home all this composting material and she teaches us how to do it, and, like, growing plants and the different succulents,” shared one parent, Pauline Shih, whose daughter attended Tzu Chi’s summer camp. “She’s very influenced by, you know, conserving and recycling, and saving the environment.”
