Wrapping Up CSW69

This March, Tzu Chi had the incredible opportunity to join the global conversations at the 69th Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69), alongside powerful side events advocating for gender equality and the empowerment of women and girls.

Engaging together with different organizations and civil societies, we collaborated to further solutions involving the uplifting of communities, policy-making, building youth leadership, and strengthening commitment to sustainable change. With events like the “NGOCSW Artisan Fair” and “Empower and Elevate: Transforming Women’s Lives Through Vocational Education”, we showcased Tzu Chi’s global work through women’s vocational training in India and Nepal to facilitate women empowerment, boosting their economic power and advancing gender equality.

By utilizing storytelling, faith, community, and the power of global connections and collaboration, strategies for achieving justice and equality were refined, creating opportunities for women and girls around the world. Support was also provided for displaced women and girls at the “Women on the Move: Inclusive, Intersectional, and Faith-Sensitive Approaches in the Humanitarian Sector” event, echoing the theme of genders rights that ran through the whole of CSW69 and our many other side events to emphasize a commitment to inclusion.

Standing alongside so many organizations during CSW69, all dedicated to creating opportunities for women and girls around the world, was truly a wonderful experience. Tzu Chi is not only a part of the conversation – we’re helping shape it.
