Ebola, mudslides and other natural disasters are some of the causes that keep the doors open at St. Mary’s Children’s Home in Freetown, Sierra Leone. Father Peter Konteh makes it “a point of duty” to travel to the Parish every Sunday to celebrate the Eucharist with the orphans.
The orphanage relies on donations, and The Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation answered the call, contributing beds, blankets and additional supplies. These gifts will improve the children’s quality of life while teaching them valuable lessons concerning compassion and the importance of extended family.
