Tzu Chi held a large-scale community vaccination event in Walnut, California, striving to help the U.S. reach the goal of vaccinating at least 60% of the population. Providing access to the vaccine is only half the work ahead, as overcoming public hesitancy and vaccination fears are equally a concern. Yet for those getting a dose, the reasons are clear: “I’m caring for my folks right now. It’s almost not about me. It’s about them, so I’ve got to make sure that they’re safe.”
