Free Clinics After Wildfires

| 3:17m

“As Camp Fire survivors move on and go forward and try to rebuild everything, it just takes time. And some of the things, like health care and dental, are set aside for so long because we don’t have the funds to rebuild everything, and then some,” said Mandy Douglass, who attended Tzu Chi’s free medical outreach event in Oroville, California, with her fiancé. Mandy first met Tzu Chi volunteers at a relief event in 2018 and stayed in touch ever since. This time, the timely medical event gave many survivors a chance to catch up — with one another and with their health. “I stayed in touch with the organization, and in July, they called us for an appointment to see if we needed anything,” said Mandy. “We have been praying and praying because my fiancé has always taken care of everybody else but not himself, and that’s why we’re here today.”
