Debbie Florio plays the role of a disaster aid recipient, and even on a fictional movie set, she experienced the emotional shock of being in that situation, and how being offered care and kindness makes such a difference. She was deeply impressed when she discovered what our volunteers do on a regular basis, “Who just goes out there and says, I’m going to take my time, my energy … leave my life, and go help these people?”
