“Sacrificial love, the idea that you’re giving of your time, energy, or resources, without expecting any returns? Tzu Chi is sort of a proxy for me for that.” Steven plays the role of Larry, Mary Lou’s son, and his story arc leads him to discover how his mother was helped after she lost everything in a flood. He shares his thoughts about what he discovered about Tzu Chi disaster relief during the making of this film.
