Celebrating Tzu Chi USA’s 33rd Anniversary at its Headquarters in California

In 1989, Tzu Chi USA was established, making it the first outpost of the Global Tzu Chi Foundation outside of Taiwan. Now headquartered in San Dimas, CA, this December, Chief Executive Officer Debra Boudreaux hosted fellow staff, volunteers, and community guests to join its 33rd anniversary celebration.
“This year’s celebration is very different from previous years as many of our Tzu Chi Collegiate Association, and Tzu Chi Youth Group members, and care-recipient families are coming back together to celebrate.”

One of those Care Recipients, Bianca Meza, was in attendance with her family (recap their story here). A year later, she shared the impact Tzu Chi volunteers have had on her family:
“I’ve known Tzu Chi for a year since I lost my home in the Lytle Creek [Fire], and thank you to your Foundation that has really, truly helped us in every way. You guys are awesome and I don’t think we would have moved on any, you know, further in life or accomplished so much if it wasn’t for you guys.”
