At the Tzu Chi Indianapolis Service Center, volunteer James Fung began a tutoring program to assist young refugees from Burma who had resettled in nearby Carmel, Indiana. Nearly a decade later, some of them join him at the 2018 Tzu Chi Spiritual Retreat.
