Who We Are
Hurricane Sandy wreaked havoc on many communities in New York in 2012. Tzu Chi NY distributed a total of $10 million in cash cards, bringing immediate disaster relief to nearly 60,000 people. Aid recipients from Queens, Brooklyn, Staten Island, as well as the NYPD and volunteer organizations that were helped, recall with gratitude how Tzu Chi volunteers were like angels coming in, a light that brought hope at this dark hour.
