Weekly Food Pantries Binding Communities Together
As part of the New York Medicaid 1115 Waiver initiative, Tzu Chi USA Northeast Region volunteers come together every week with one shared mission: to support families in need with fresh, healthy groceries.
Through compassion in action, dedicated volunteers carefully sort, pack, and distribute nutritious food bags to help improve food security and promote better health outcomes in underserved communities across New York.
This program is more than a food distribution effort. It’s part of a larger commitment to addressing social determinants of health, reducing health disparities, and building stronger, healthier neighborhoods. Each grocery bag represents care, dignity, and hope for families facing challenging times.
Meet the incredible volunteers who make this work possible. Their dedication, teamwork, and heartfelt service embody Tzu Chi’s mission of compassion and community impact.
