The Kua o Ka Lao Charter School is one of many places along the coastline of Hawaii that were destroyed by the Kilauea volcanic eruption. The school provides Hawaiian children with the opportunity to receive an education with Native Hawaiian values, and teaches the importance of their heritage and cultural history. Without state funded disaster relief support, the school is scarce on resources for rebuilding. That is why Tzu Chi is providing disaster relief distribution to individuals of Hawaii, which in turn will help rebuild this community that was devastated by the eruption.
