Some only had 7 minutes to evacuate as the Erskine Fire raged towards their homes in California’s Kern County, Lake Isabella region, its flames consuming everything in their path. Many lost their homes, and are traumatized knowing the inferno could have easily claimed their lives as well. Tzu Chi’s disaster aid after this nightmare is a financial relief, but the love offered by volunteers is of equal importance, and greatly appreciated.
