November 27, 2018

Northern California’s Camp Fire incinerated over 150,000 acres of land leaving well over 10,000 families without homes to spend their Thanksgiving holiday. Tzu Chi USA volunteers chose to serve the community in place of participating in traditional Thanksgiving celebration. “This is also the first Thanksgiving holiday that our family is away from home and we are spending the holiday volunteering together.” remarks Tzu Chi Volunteer, Chi Jen Huang. Cash cards, scarves, and blankets are being distributed with hopes to provide people with some level of comfort as they start over, rebuilding their lives, in the aftermath of the worst wildfire in California’s history.
