As the Cash For Relief program was drawing to a close in Pedernales after nine days, most of the streets in town were finally clear of rubble, and many store owners had reopened their businesses, even if some must resort to setting up improvised shops under tents. It will take time before everything gets back to normal, but the people here are finally leaving sorrow behind as they begin to return to a more regular way of life.
