They fled home to the sound of explosions and came to Poland in the dark, not knowing how their lives would go further. Leaving everything behind with so much heartache, and finding one’s way in a new country with a different language wasn’t easy. However, at this darkest hour, Poland has opened its homes, churches, and hearts, to Ukrainian refugees. Through interfaith collaboration with the Camillian Disaster Service (CADIS) International team, Tzu Chi has helped bring warmth and empowerment into the lives of Ukrainian refugees.
