Disaster Relief

After Hurricane Maria hit Yabucoa, Puerto Rico, many people’s lives were put on hold as the power of the storm wreaked havoc on the fishing community. “The hurricane damaged the land as well as the sea,” explained Yamary Morales, a local fisherwoman. When electricity has yet to be fully restored, and business remains slow, a race against time is created as whatever they catch must be sold immediately without the ability to be refrigerated.
