Disaster Relief

After a catastrophic hurricane knocked on their door twice in two years, residents of Lumberton, North Carolina received much-needed aid from Tzu Chi USA. “We are here today to provide care and financial aid to people who are impacted by the hurricane,” states one Tzu Chi USA Volunteer. Hurricane Florence affected the elderly, disabled, mothers, their children and everyone else who was in her path. Crisis does not discriminate to those affected or the extended hand of aid. One care recipient expresses “It’s not just about the money it’s about knowing that people care all over the world. We’re all brothers and sisters. They are all from another county, but we are all brothers and sisters.” Tzu Chi brings Lumberton a different understanding of diversity, community and care wrapped in the most important message of all. Love. In the words of Master Cheng Yen “Our Mind is like a garden. If no good seeds are sown. Nothing good grows from it.” What’s in your garden? Will you help us plant good seeds?
Please join us and support our efforts in providing supplies and resources to those in need.
