When Ivonne discovered what Tzu Chi was doing to help after the earthquake, she jumped at the opportunity to help as a local volunteer. She believes in helping others, a value her mother instilled, but she didn’t expect the personal transformation that followed once she began to help. From feelings of lonely helplessness, this woman who’s supporting her mother and nephew discovered her own inner strength.
