Camp Fire: Paradise Lost

What once was Paradise in California has now been completely obliterated off the map as a result of the Camp Fire, the most devastating wildfire in California’s history. Residents lost everything — some escaping with just the clothes on their backs. “We didn’t have any time to get out, we didn’t have any time to grab anything” recounts one survivor. In Chico, just outside the affected areas, the community has come together by donating essentials. Tzu Chi USA volunteers asses the damages and also help with distribution. “ You can see the outpouring of love here in this community; This is why we love Chico. People really come together in times like this.”
