Meet Jason Miller, a detective of the Butte County Sheriff’s Office who shares his experiences from the day the Camp Fire reached Oroville, California. While the wildfire may have taken many lives along its blazing path, thousands of lives were saved because of the courageous acts of public servants like Jason. “We’re not heroes. We’re guardians of the community.” With inspiration from Tzu Chi USA’s philanthropic efforts, Jason and the Oroville community have been inspired to keep faith for a brighter future following the disaster.
