Daniel Ralston’s Story: New Beginnings
After the devastating Camp Fire of 2018 in Northern California, Daniel Ralston faced the heartbreaking loss of his 23-year-old home in Paradise, CA. But with the support of Tzu Chi USA, Daniel received a trailer home to help him begin the long journey of recovery.
Throughout this journey, Tzu Chi Chico Recovery Center’s Disaster Case Manager, Suzanne Morrison, stood by Daniel’s side, offering assistance and guidance every step of the way. The final chapter of his recovery came with the grant the Town of Paradise provided, which allowed the Hope Crisis Response Network to build a new home for him, rewarding his hope that has remained strong through his hardship.
On April 26, 2024, Daniel and his beloved cat, Baby—another Camp Fire survivor—finally moved into their new home, filled with hope and new beginnings.
