Discover “Humans of Chinatown”
“Can I take a photo of you?”
Wishing to lift up the cultural continuity of New Yorkers living in Chinatown, and preserve a community’s unique heritage, a high school student named Norah Lin decided to bring her camera with her when volunteering at Tzu Chi New York’s food pantry distributions.
“Chinatown, first of all, I think it’s really important to tell the stories of the people that are still here,” shared Nora. “I had an idea to put those photos and videos on a website. It’s just a good way to document and preserve specific stories about specific people that otherwise wouldn’t be shared.” And thus began “Humans of Chinatown.” Watch on!
