Helping San Bernardino After Christmas Flood
After powerful winter storms devastated Southern California during the Christmas holiday, Tzu Chi volunteers stepped in to support families displaced by severe flooding, mudslides, and road damage.
Mountain communities such as Wrightwood and Lytle Creek were among the hardest hit, forcing residents to evacuate their homes with little warning.
On January 9–10, 2026, Tzu Chi volunteers served at the San Bernardino County Local Assistance Center in Hesperia, providing cash cards, eco-blankets, and compassionate care to disaster survivors. Beyond material aid, volunteers listened to survivors’ stories, offering comfort and companionship as families began their journey toward recovery.
Through relief distribution and human-centered care, Tzu Chi continues to walk alongside affected communities, bringing hope, dignity, and support during times of crisis.
